1897 and 1911 - significant fires broke out in cooperage and timber works resulting in serious personal loss for Mr. McMahon. But soon it was business as usual as the McMahon family spirit saw them overcame these disasters.

Mr. Hugh McMahon took over management of the company, consisting largely of members of the McMahon family.

The establishment of the Irish State – McMahon’s found a large market in the supply of timber and other building requirements for local authority and social housing.

1960 - James McMahon Limited bought out its rival business Francis Spaight Ltd.

Early 1960’s - McMahon’s expanded into the national arena. McMahon Dublin Ltd formed.

1968 - McMahon Group introduced the first re-fabricated roof truss plant to Ireland

The Group became a founding member of the Irish Truss Plate Association

The Group introduced the first machine stress grading plant to Ireland.

Branches are now open in Limerick, Dublin, Portarlington, Drogheda, Dunmanaway, Galway, Mullingar, Tralee and Cork.

Subsidiaries developed to include native timber mills at Mountshannon, Francis Spaight & Co.

1970 - BRC McMahon Reinforcements Ltd. set-up in conjunction with British Reinforced Concrete Engineering Co. Ltd., one of the largest manufacturers of mesh reinforcements in the world.

1986 - merged 3 divisions to Corcanree to provide complete service from one location.

1999 - acquired Robert Keyes Group (Est. 1890), one of Northern Ireland's leading specialist suppliers to the building industry.

2001 - opened new retail branch in Drogheda.

2002 - acquired Morahan & Hughes, Galway.

2004 - opening of Mullingar branch.
