McMahon's and Keys McMahon's stock
a wide range of building aggregates, from Cement, Lime, Pebbledash,
Mortar mix to a whole range of Cement admixtures. The most popular of
all those aggregates being Portland Cement.
Portland Cement is odourless and appears in a fine grey powder. It
contains a relative density of 3.1, with a mean particle size of 15-20
micron. It predominantly comprises of calcium, silica, alumina and iron.
Cement is one of the main ingredients required to make concrete.
Concrete is formed by mixing stone and sand with cement and water in
carefully selected proportions and allowing the compacted material to
set and harden.
Remember: only use Cement stored in Dry conditions. Use only clean sharp
sand found to perform well locally. Never apply strong plaster over weak
undercoats. Prevent plaster from rapidly drying out, particularly in
sunny weather. Protection for the eyes, mouth and nose should be worn in
circumstances when dry cement may become airborne.
